The big "to do" about guns

is more than it appears.

As we approach the new enlightened age, the first thing we must stop (according to many and A Course in Miracles)
is all forms of attack.

Self attack turns into other attack.

Guns are just an extension... In this new age of Neptune and Chiron in Pisces;
it's a great place to start, and thank GODS, we have the right president; that's no accident.

Separation - other - attack - guns

IMHO

I start by stopping my attacking of myself. Then, that will automatically free me from attacking others.
I see no other solution. That's the basis in ACIM.

When we are not attacking, it draws a peaceful reaction from "others".

Communication is a process. Maybe you didn't get the immediate response you hoped for or what you thought might be reasonable.

Give the other person time to think it over.

No matter how you act it won't change her free will. What can change is how you see her. I think she is simply calling out for love in her own way.

She's had an abundance of love over the years. Wonder why/whether she's unsure of that. Somehow related simply to having a sibling (6/27/88, DC, 8:15 am.) ?

And I've never seen people so serious about doing something about guns in my 48 years. It even created a bit of separation between Church and Hate last weekend here in Lexington, KY; the "Kenny Woods Gun and Knife Show" was taking place downtown at the Civic Center and some local Churches organized a prayer remembrance for the people killed at Sandy Hook, and other victims of gun violence, at the park across the street. The news covered it like crazy. I found that pretty awesome, some religious groups actually stepping up like that. Promising.

it's come to a head, is the continuing Uranus (guns) square to Pluto. We need to redefine the usage of
force on all levels. And the awful chart of the birth of the NRA is very irrational. On the DAY of the CT shootings,
their chart got hit in its weakest spot by Pluto right on their Mars/Saturn.

Mars/Saturn is cruel energy, ie. therefore, the have to face their own cruelty.

or crumble

I think the answer has to come from within the NRA

The minister, Rev. Lynn Strauss said it was time again, in light of the Newtown mass murders, for UUs to exercise the kind of moral authority we practiced over the years and decades with issues like abolition, women's suffrage, ending racism, voter rights, and equal marriage. Our first nonviolence working group meeting is Jan. 26. I am excited about this. It looks like a lot of people in the congregation are more than ready to deal with it.

We are Godlings, and we keep forgetting it which leads to separation.

The only thing that is real is love anyway.

it took me forever
I just turned 61
I kept reading it
and reading it
and I finally GOT IT
I think

When I solve peace in me, it solves it for all
I was thinking in a linear fashion before, which is why I couldn't figure it out
If I solved my peace, how did it affect "you"?

Until I finally listened closer; there is only one of us (at the same time that there are many)
There's an Aquarian answer for you.
But it's true.

That's what I mean.
The rest is illusory

Your thoughts?

Thanks for sharing your epiphany with us.

I don't think I attack myself often, but on occasion I do. Usually for not getting enough work done.

Remember that book from sometime around the 70s? How to Be Your Own Best Friend? I read it. One of the practices I gleaned is that when you attack yourself, ask yourself if you would treat your best friend that way. The answer is almost always no.

The interesting thing about this practice is that it gets you to thinking of yourself as a friend. In that context, it is much easier to just let oneself "be."

A friend sent me this poem from Hugh Prather the other day. It seems appropriate here:

What should I do?

Nothing
Nothing is the thing to do
(Nothing is the only doing)

I am worthwhile just existing
("Just"? - OK, I am worthwhile existing)

What if the stars were to start doing something?
("What are you doing hummingbird?"
"I'm just being a hummingbird"
"Oh, is that all?&quot

As soon as I start doing
I stop being

"I don't understand how you do so little."

(Now that's a compliment)

Hugh Prather (~1972)
