A family member is Greek Orthodox, so I know this greeting.

We communicated at a Greek Orthodox Church for 15 years. Sang in the choir.
My husband, Swedish heritage, I'm Slavic descent (Czechoslovakia.) He was tonsured a Reader by the Bishop of Atlanta. He embraced Orthodoxy so strongly having come from a non-Orthodox tradition of faith.

It was so memorable. The hymnography. The Greek culture. Yes, and those Greek Festivals!
