Where are last year's palms?

We always stuck them up behind a holy picture up on the wall. This wasn't a problem for my Mom, but my cats like to bat at them. It never occurred to me until my own kids grew up that maybe everybody doesn't do this.

A couple of them are wrapped around a crucifix that I made several years ago when I wasn't working full time and had more time on my hands. A couple are behind the picture of the Last Supper that mom brought home from Grandma's after Grandma passed in 2003.

Yeah, you have to watch when there are cats around because they'll either bat at them or consume them.

we put them on our "seasonal table" - a small table, covered with a cloth coloured for the church seasons, and where we put things the children gathered each season: autumn leaves, seed pods, spring flowers, seashells, etc. We also put up displays suitable for church festivals, such as the palm leaves, the Advent calendar, etc.

Now my children are grown, we don't have a seasonal table any longer (I miss it!), so I leave the leaves at the church to be burnt for next year's Ash Wednesday. Recycling.
