Well, I took the kids to see The Conjuring.

Afterwards they asked what time is Mass tomorrow.

I'll take that over their usual bellyaching.

1. Maybe taking them to that movie was a good thing after all.

2. Well it was all about demons and possession.

Not a very good movie imo but I appreciate their reactions.

3. I enjoyed it.

I went as a double date, and we did Jagerbombs before the movie. Good friends + booze + creepy movie = good night in my book.

4. It had a slow start and cribbed too much from The Exorcist and The Birds.

But The Conjuring 2 is already in the works.

5. Sure, but I love both of those movies.

I love the character development in The Birds. Having the two main heroes flirting by playing pranks on each other was great.

10. I read somewhere that the mechanical birds didn't work too well.

In that scene where the door slammed shut behind her in the room, people off camera were throwing birds at her. That's Tippi's real blood.

But Rosemary's Baby scared the tar out of me!

And I don't plan to watch it myself. But if it had the kids asking when's Mass tomorrow, it's to be appreciated for that if nothing more. Their enjoyment of church attendance should mature over time.
