Drunken priest suspended after kicking PC and trying to bite paramedic

A priest has been suspended after he admitted assaulting a police officer and a paramedic on a drunken night out.

The Reverend Gareth Jones swore at officers and claimed he had diplomatic immunity from the Vatican when he was arrested two weeks ago.

A paramedic found him passed out in his clerical clothes, in central London.

Jones, who later said he was "deeply ashamed" about what happened, had drunk three bottles of wine, several pints of beer, gin and tonics and vodka.

Highbury Corner magistrates heard he kicked a paramedic twice in the leg before punching him and trying to bite him, on Charing Cross Road, in Covent Garden.

After all that alcohol he could still fight like that
I am surprised

Guy probably won't wind up in jail, but he should.
Not for months or years, but for a little while

A man who was allegedly high on meth reportedly fought off more than a dozen police officers while publicly masturbating.

Andrew Frey, 37, apparently made a series of outbursts and then began masturbating in an Oregon restaurant, The Oregonian reports.

Incredibly, police were reportedly unable to subdue Frey with a Taser.

It took 15 officers to finally take him into custody and stop him pleasuring himself.

The problem is Anglican priests are usually referred to as vicars, and the headlines about diplomatic Vatican immunity allowed me to draw the wrong conclusions instead of reading the whole article. In my defence I'd not been up long.

If all priests were like him it would make church more interesting.

If you want to post anti-Catholic crap (while using an Anglican) do it elsewhere,.

I posted a story about a priest, and I've said why I mistook him for a Catholic. And it's true, it's not the worst thing a priest has done. I didn't set out to post "anti Catholic crap."

You might want to ask yourself why you're being over defensive

You posted a story about a drunken priest, not Catholic, and the Vatican.

You posted it's not the worst thing a priest has done.

And you failed to read the Statement of Purpose for this Group:

Discuss Catholic and/or Orthodox Christian beliefs, share faith experiences, post prayer requests, discuss Catholic/Orthodox liturgies, traditions, saints, etc.

And now you want me to ask myself why I'm being over(ly) defensive.

You might want to ask yourself why you're being over here at all.

Do so from there.

Oh dear.
