KNOKKE, BELGIUM — A Belgian doctor has ignited outrage after listing “Jewish (Israeli)” under the medical problems of a nine-year-old patient at AZ Zeno Campus Hospital in Knokke-Heist.
The report otherwise described routine injuries: “Pain in the left forearm, fell from the climbing structure to the ground; a man fell on top of her.” The addition of “Jewish (Israeli)” was made in an official section for medical concerns, violating ethics and standard practice.
Investigations led by JID, Belgium’s main antisemitism watchdog, link the doctor to anti-Israel social media content and publicly shared antisemitic material. JID announced the filing of formal complaints with Belgian law enforcement and medical authorities, demanding decisive action to uphold professional conduct and safeguard Jewish patients’ rights.

Jewish parents and advocates emphasize that “no parent should fear that their child’s care might be compromised because of their Jewish identity,” calling for the strongest disciplinary response. This case is one of a growing pattern of antisemitism reported in healthcare settings in Europe and North America, particularly since October 7.
