(JEWISH GROUP) Ireland U-turns on plan to change park named after Israeli politician after global backlash

A plan to rename a Dublin park after an Israeli politican has been temporarily canned after global furore including US senators wading in.

Herzog Park in south Dublin was named after Chaim Herzog, a former president of Israel who was born in Belfast and raised in Dublin.

A vote to rename the park was scheduled for Monday and came after a concerted campaign by pro-Palestine activists horrified by the violence in Gaza which the UN has deemed a genocide.

But on Sunday, Richard Shakespeare, the Chief Executive of Dublin City Council, announced on Sunday evening that he plans to withdraw the report due to a legislative technicality.

Due to a technicality, not because it was a bullshit bigoted move.

The bigotry and stupidity are mind-numbing!
