Agency working with US military posts sermon advising ‘men of Israel’ to apologize for killing of Jesus

An agency that provides administrative services to the U.S. military posted an Easter sermon on its website that described a New Testament passage preaching to Jews as a demand to “say sorry” for killing Jesus.

The Washington Headquarters Services pulled down the sermon attributed to a Navy chaplain in North Carolina on April 28, a day after complaints by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, a group that advocates for troops and veterans who report discrimination in the military.

Both the foundation and the Jewish War Veterans have called for an inquiry into the sermon by Lt. Aristotle Rivera of Camp Lejeune and how it was posted on March 30. The foundation, which also wants repercussions against Rivera, said the sermon contradicted rules against proselytizing and peddling bigotry.

It wasn’t clear why an administrative services agency would post a sermon of any kind. Regina Meiners, the acting director of the Washington Headquarters Service, did not return a request for comment.

In the New Testament, the eleventh chapter of the Gospel of John describes in detail a meeting of Jewish leaders in which they express the fear that the brutal Roman invaders will MASSACRE the Jewish people if they do not cooperate with the Romans in murdering Jesus. "What else can we do?" they ask each other. Roman authorities were obviously irritated about the popularity of this street preacher. And Romans had already killed crowds, in Judea and in other countries, for failing to give Rome the worshipful obedience demanded by the Roman Egomania. Plus, it was actually Roman soldiers who crucified Jesus. And they had crucified many others, and would continue to crucify many others. That odd scene in which the people are corralled into "choosing" the other guy to be pardoned was obviously ORCHESTRATED by the Roman governor Pontius Pilate. People living in terror soon learn to divine what their brutal conquerors want them to say. The Roman Empire was not formed by gentle persuasion. The Roman Empire was not a benevolent international aid society. These were vicious, sadistic megalomaniacs. The poor Jewish people, like many other conquered peoples at that time, were living in daily TERROR.
