GOP senator calls to ban, deport ‘Islam’ immigrants over National Guard shooting

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) on Wednesday called on the government to ban and deport “Islam” immigrants from the United States after an Afghan national allegedly shot two West Virginia National Guard members in Washington, D.C.

“The Afghan terrorist who shot 2 National Guard heroes in D.C. was welcomed into this country with open arms by Joe Biden,” Tuberville wrote in a post on the social platform X.

“We must IMMEDIATELY BAN all ISLAM immigrants and DEPORT every single Islamist who is living among us just waiting to attack,” Tuberville added.

Tuberville’s comments come as U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) said it would indefinitely halt immigration from Afghanistan. President Trump called on his administration to review the cases of refugees who fled Afghanistan following the Taliban’s takeover in 2021.
