House Science Member Says Earth is 9,000 years old

http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/observations/2012/10/05/house-science-member-says-earth-is-9000-years-old/

The earth is about 9,000 years old, according to U.S. House Representative Paul Broun, who is also a physician and member of the Committee on Science, Space and Technology of the House of Representatives. “There are a lot of scientific data that I’ve found out as a scientist that actually show that this is really a young earth, ” Broun said in a videotape of the Sportsmen’s Banquet held on September 27 at Liberty Baptist Church in Hartwell, Georgia. “I don’t believe that the earth is but about 9,000 years old. I believe it was created in six days as we know them.”

The video was uploaded to Youtube on Oct 4 by LibertyBCofHart and also appears on the Liberty Baptist Church website. I learned about it from reading a post at Talking Points Memo.

When they come into conflict while caring for a patient, what takes priority - his hippocratic oath, or his religious fundamentalism.

I've seen it both ways where they do everything they can to keep you going, even when there is no hope because they believe death is the end...period.

or

Once they decide your time has come or attempts at recovery are useless, they do nothing because they believe there is a better place.
