Otherworldly 'time crystal' made inside Google quantum computer could change physics forever

By Ben Turner about 5 hours ago

The crystal is able to forever cycle between states without losing energy.

Researchers working in partnership with Google may have just used the tech giant's quantum computer to create a completely new phase of matter — a time crystal.

With the ability to forever cycle between two states without ever losing energy, time crystals dodge one of the most important laws of physics — the second law of thermodynamics, which states that the disorder, or entropy, of an isolated system must always increase. These bizarre time crystals remain stable, resisting any dissolution into randomness, despite existing in a constant state of flux.

According to a research article posted July 28 to the preprint database arXiv, scientists were able to create the time crystal for roughly 100 seconds using qubits (quantum computing's version of the traditional computer bit) inside the core of Google's Sycamore quantum processor.

The existence of this weird new matter phase, and the entirely new realm of physical behaviors it reveals, is incredibly exciting to physicists, especially as time crystals were only first predicted to exist just nine years ago.

Does it have/have not mass at the same time? Does it exist and not exist in dimension(s) at the same time? Can we save Earth mass overcome by bits and bytes by storing those bits/bytes of info in a "time crystal" and ever locate that info again? I'm not a physics scientist and don't think I've even stayed in a Holiday Express.

Remember that? If so, you're as old as me, which is to say, as old as dirt.

Not perfectly formed, or is the anti-Second Law theory flawed in the "forever" department?

The essence of the Vedic revelation, the last chapters- so to speak, explain the Vedic unified-field-theory.
Sat-Chit-Ananta* means the 'existent-conscious-unending'.

The article speaks of a 'timeless existent' that is neither inside nor outside of an entropic isolated system.
This is known by conscious-existent-observers, who also observe their incredible excitment.

Similar to weightlessness on an aircraft mirroring free fall for a few moments.

The energy and physics of the computer creates this suspended animation for a short time where the crystal seems in constant change without energy loss. Yet the energy required to create this state is not outside the laws of entropy. Energy is required to create this environment seemingly out of the known parameters.

And it could be that the current tolerances of our measuring equipment aren't small enough.
