This guy was smart enough to to stand against the wall. My prof was out in the open and got nicked by the bowling ball. He said he’d inadvertently leaned forward a bit. He didn’t get hit hard of course.

He was a good teacher. The lecture hall had a huge pipe organ someone had donated and he used it a couple times when we were studying sound waves. When we came to class on Halloween he had on a white frock as did his assistant, who had something underneath to make him a hunchback. When we came in he sat and played the organ laughing maniacally, he was pretty talented. One day I was in the video rental place, back when they kept the x rated stuff separate in a back room. I went back to look for a video and saw him there looking at the titles. I know he was greatly embarrassed. We ignored each other. I should have said something like “hello doctor ___” but I didn’t have the heart.

But are we in California?
Depending 100 percent on conservation of energy, betting on that object not to encounter any external force in a state with measurable seismic activity 100 percent of days... er... experiment not 100 percent "safe".
Yikes.

He had a kid perform the experiment.

Mister Wizard wasn't no fool.
