For the first time in over 50 years, humans will again visit our nearest celestial neighbor. This evening, at 6:24 EDT (tentative), Artemis II will launch from Cape Canaveral, Fla., for the projected 10-day flight that will take the 4-person crew to the moon and back. The launch will be live-streamed on several platforms, which can be found here. On Day 5, they will reach lunar space, and spend two days there, before exiting orbit and heading back to Earth.
Should be an exciting few days! This old space cadet will be watching!

(164,132 posts)I'm taking it really hard!
There's so much we need to discover, to learn, to hear, and discuss if we can get the slightest bit of hope back!
I'm tuned in continually every day, holding my breath, waiting for divine, or extraterrestrial intervention!

Looking forward to the days and nights we are free to post in peace, and trade information still waiting to be discovered!
Make our planet sane again!
Thank you, lastlib!
Sure hope these astronauts make a breakthrough or two we really want to hear!
DU still is the place!
