I constantly ask My Son The Astronomer questions about just how long ago we learned something or another in astronomy or physics, and I'm usually blown away by how long ago it was. I can't think of any specifics right now, although . . . wait, I'll look something up.

Okay, I found this: In 1676, a Danish astronomer first measured the speed of light. That's a long time ago.

Humans really are smart. Every mother knows this, which is why she is constantly telling you how smart her kid is. That's because she's seen the kid go from being a newborn who can only eat, pee, and poop, to walking and beginning to talk in about a year. Yep, every human really is a genius. Also, very young children are natural scientists and rather instinctively use the scientific method to figure out things.

This also, without being a specific subject in the video, helps understand why it is not necessary to invoke a Chariots of the Gods hypothesis for how the Pyramids were built. Or any other ancient structure. Humans have been more than capable of such things for a very long time.
