Or have we ruined that holiday too?
I have my (battery-powered) jack o'lantern in the window and the Purina Kiddie Chow all set, I think.
Since I live in what the realtors refer to euphemistically as "a multi-ethnic neighborhood," in the past I've conducted rigorous scientific experiments on the cultural intersectionality of Halloween.
Asian kids, Hispanic kids, Russian/Ukrainian kids...ALL kids, I've learned, very easily grasp the concept of "free candy."
Today I've been down in the workshop, dismem...er, working on my Weird Hobby. Was listening to an "alt" radio station, but I really got tired of hearing Lumineers and Mumford & Sons every 3.5 minutes. (Alt, my butt!)
So I switched over to a classical station playing "pre-Halloween" music. That was pretty good. "House of the Devil," "Central Park After Dark," Jerry Goldsmith's score for "The Omen," some thunderacious Wagner, etc.
And I've found some great online recipes for the perfect Halloween dinner...

Well, Happy Halloween.....the holiday that I wish I had some sort of belief so I could have excuses to dance naked in the field.

In fact, the local library has free "No Trick or Treaters" door signs supplied by the Police to discourage young kids from knocking on strangers' doors.
