Warren Jeffs tells FLDS faithful world will end before 2013

KSL TV:

OLORADO CITY — Continuing his rule behind bars, Fundamentalist LDS Church leader Warren Jeffs has told his congregation to prepare for the end of the world before the end of the year.

According to CNN reporter Gary Tuchman, polygamist sect leader Jeffs has declared that the world will end before 2013.

Though church members continue to work, Colorado City's only grocery store — a gathering place for the town as well — has closed its doors. Sam Brower, a private investigator who has represented more than 100 former FLDS Church members, told CNN that the closure of the store is a confirmation that Jeffs' declaration is being taken seriously.

Believers do not talk to reporters and nobody was willing to comment on the declaration. CNN reported that some FLDS members even used intimidation techniques involving driving large trucks by their cameras.

Damn! Now I'm going to have to go to an earlier movie tomorrow evening...

that told him that. Thank goodness we have so many people who aren't restricted by evidence and reason.

I hope that the world ends for that bunch of crazies.

We often talk about using thought and reason instead of emotion and sentimentality. People like this make me wonder if they are even capable of reason.

And....why would you close the grocery store because the world is ending "this coming year"? Don't you figure you should keep living until the appointed time comes? You know, keep living and strive to be even more religious and godly. I don't get it.

Because like all religions, it's great theatre! It has nothing to do with what happens or will happen. It's all about showing off how loyal and what a believer you are.

what are these people going to do while they are waiting for the end to come? Are they intending to just sit there with their hands folded in their laps and wait? They might as well keep busy going about their life and work until "god calls them".

Well, that is what I think makes more sense.....oh crap, what am I talking about "sense" for.

funny "Little Audrey" joke. (Little Audrey jokes were a fad similar to Little Willy jokes.)

Little Audrey and her boyfriend were sitting on the porch. Her boyfriends said "It's so dark, I can't see my hand in front of my face." But little Audrey just laughed and laughed, because she knew his hand wasn't in front of his face.

Apparently the FLDS has been mailing print copies of his words of wisdom to public libraries around the country, where librarians take one look and toss them in the recycling bin.
