Won't ever let things like facts or reality get in the way of their carefully constructed delusions.

"WHO takes the Bible literally except for the few LITERALISTS and if you don't cherry pick then YOU'RE the literalist and Atheists are JUST AS BAD AS Fundies when it comes to Biblical Literalism. So put that in your pipe and smoke it, heathen. Oh. I almost forgot. Fuck Richard Dawkins."

Well that's a step forward. I mean, after all, isn't admitting you have a problem the first step?

Because they are picking the good cherries, you see. That's ok. Now don't go and point out they're simply begging the question on how the good cherries are defined, and how other Christians will swear up and down THEIR cherries are the good ones, yada yada. If you do that then you're just a horrible religion-hating anti-theist.

Adding the part about Richard Dawkins was perfect too

I am honestly amazed that there was no hate filled thread about his birthday yesterday in the R-forum.

I was having a religion discussion with the partner at the CPA firm I work in. He is getting to be fundamentalist and it is creeping me out. Well, I had been arguing the other day about Noah being the most worthy to be saved of all the people on the earth, and so he read the whole Noah story and admitted that it was hard to understand why Noah was the one saved.

Then, later in the conversation, he says that he finds it much easier to believe in creationism than science.....at which time I threw up my hands, told him I couldn't even continue the discussion since he had just elevated himself from delusional to bat-shit crazy. I had to just walk out on that one.

So this cartoon is very appropriate today.
