"How to help women learn their place"
Teach girls that they can do and be and love anything/anyone they want, and they don't have to obey any religious dogma that states otherwise.

There, that was easy.

What a revolting piece of the Internet though. Yikes.

3. Yeah, they're serious. What man wouldn't love to have a smiling, compliant domestic slave

to cater to his every whim? Since they're patriarchs, they never consider said slave to have any thoughts or feelings of her own, she's just interesting livestock, there to put clean socks in the top drawer and dinner on the table, only specifically noticed if she does something wrong.

Honestly, I wish these assholes would catch a clue and save up for Real Dolls. A Real Doll never talks back (or at all), never gains an ounce, and is always "ready." She's perfect for the average patriarch and it would get him out of the dating scene, a gift to all living women.

My teenage daughter has been asking me for some time to put together a guide with Scripture passages that she can commit to memory as she shares these truths with other young girls she attends school with.

Congratulations dude, you've turned your daughter into "that kid". If the school ever needs to evacuate because there's a fire, they won't need an alarm, they'll just send your kid in on one end and the other kids will trample each other to get away from her.

My place is wherever I want to be, and screw the men who think otherwise.

Sorry that I didn't even click the link, so I can't be more specific. But I can thank this sort of thing for making me the atheist/anti-theist that I am today....it all started with women's roles.

If it were me, I wouldn't be the one digging that hole. Why should I do all that work when I could force you to do it before you got the frying pan over the head.

Here's the "Family" part of the "Southern Baptist Faith & Message." The F&M is roughly the SoB version of dicta from the Pope etc. It's the official stance of the Southern Baptist Convention.

The F&M was first written in 1925, revised in 1963 and this new version was adopted in June 2000. When they felt the need to address a couple of...contemporary issues.

You can read the whole thing at the link:

XVIII. The Family

God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood, or adoption.

Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God's unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of the human race.

The husband and wife are of equal worth before God, since both are created in God's image. The marriage relationship models the way God relates to His people. A husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church. He has the God-given responsibility to provide for, to protect, and to lead his family.

A wife is to submit herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the church willingly submits to the headship of Christ. She, being in the image of God as is her husband and thus equal to him, has the God-given responsibility to respect her husband and to serve as his helper in managing the household and nurturing the next generation.

Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents are to demonstrate to their children God's pattern for marriage. Parents are to teach their children spiritual and moral values and to lead them, through consistent lifestyle example and loving discipline, to make choices based on biblical truth. Children are to honor and obey their parents.
