One xtian just got this Ohio atheism billboard taken down

http://www.buzzfeed.com/copyranter/one-christian-just-got-this-ohio-atheism-billboard

From the Mid-Ohio Atheists website:

Today we received the news that the owner of the land where one of our billboards was placed has threatened to cancel his lease with Lamar if they do not take down our billboard. Had I been forced to guess which one of the three we put up people would find most offensive and which one we would be forced to take down I would have been wrong. Apparently what people fear the most in Mansfield Ohio is not being told there is no God or that God is an invention of man. No my friends what they fear more than those two messages was a message encouraging the use of reason over faith.

Couldn't we have a nice torn-up fetus or an ad for a sex shop? dimbear Jun 2012 #1

It still would have met opposition had "faith" not been crossed out too. laconicsax Jun 2012 #5
Rather silly, but if it's on the guy's land it's his right. Starboard Tack Jun 2012 #3

I was expecting something more in your face, to be honest. I guess the only way some atheist billboards are going to be accepted is if the image is of a fluffy bunny or a basket of puppies with the atheist organization's website under it.

And some still claim that there's no discrimination against atheists in this country.

I get the feeling that all three billboards had the same (that is, 100%) odds of being complained about by the landowner.

What? No one up in the sky waiting to strike the minute I get out of line? No one to smite my enemies for me? No ticket to paradise after I die??

Eeeeeviiiiillllll!!!!! So very evil!1!

I sometimes wonder how they even realize billboards and such are put up as that would mean they'd have to stop cowering in their barn with their bible and shotgun for a spell.
