Weather Watchers

NEW BLOOMFIELD A very strong and multifaceted storm will start impacting mid-Missouri later Wednesday with rain showers. Late Wednesday evening, and into early Thursday morning, we do have a chance at seeing a few thunderstorms. There is a small likelihood one of these storms will become severe. For that reason locations south of Highway 50 are under risk level 1 for severe weather. If we do have a storm go severe, 60 mph wind gusts will be the primary threat.
Some of these thunderstorms will produce moderate to heavy rainfall and some isolated flooding is possible. The same locations in risk level 1 for severe weather are also under a flood watch. 1-2" of rain will be possible.

(26,268 posts)I did a run to the store, this morning, just in case. Here's a clip from a FP post by Brad Sugden, a local meteorologist (Flint, MI). I live in the middle of the county, so who knows what I'll see. Hopefully no ice, that's for sure.
COMPLICATED MAP ALERT! Hopefully this isn't too hard to make sense of. Basically, the southern side of the system is a hot mess of rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow. Because of that we'll have an incredible gradient of heavy snow to light snow and heavy sleet / ice. Realistically it could be less than 20 miles! Meaning, northern Genesee county could get 8" of snow while areas south like Fenton get a couple inches of slush, sleet, and even some freezing rain. YIKES!

(38,958 posts)It's hard to say what we will get on the other side of the state. The forecasters don't have it nailed down as of yet.
