The hurricane warnings are for the east coasts of Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
I see they have now added tropical storm watches for the west coasts.

This is an extremely unusual event.

Hurricanes do not affect Costa Rica often and when they do it is usually a rain event. Otto looks like it will be a significant rain and wind event for Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
