The secret to living longer may be your social life

The Italian island of Sardinia has more than six times as many centenarians as the mainland and ten times as many as North America. Why? According to psychologist Susan Pinker, it's not a sunny disposition or a low-fat, gluten-free diet that keeps the islanders healthy -- it's their emphasis on close personal relationships and face-to-face interactions. Learn more about super longevity as Pinker explains what it takes to live to 100 and beyond.

where you can have your own independent apartment but there are lots of activities available, if you so choose. I don't want to get dragged out and forced to participate in things I'm not interested in. Extroverts seem completely unable to grasp that people exist who enjoy spending time alone.

The older I get the fewer people I want to associate with. The idea of ending my live in some sort of residential community sound like hell to me.

My Grandmother lived to be 104, and she was a happy hermit too!

When my grandson was little he wanted me to live forever. I told him I couldn't do that, but I would live to be 104 and that made him happy. So now I know exactly how to do that.
