"Stay in your lane Yoshida"
I am announcing that I will no longer be posting in General Discussion or any similar forums because I obviously don’t know an AI generated vidoeo and real news . Since my expertise is Asian Culture I will “Stay in my lane” and no longer post anywhere outside the Asian group. I have received several angry messages to stop posting Anything in regards to the Trump Administration be cause “You don’t know the difference between real news and fake propaganda “ and since I know more about Asia I will from now on no longer post anything about US Politics. I hope this makes DU happy and I apologize for any discomfort this has caused DUers. I have been accused of being a Republican plant which is totally untrue as I have been a Democrat all my life never once voting for a Republican ever. This is a message to the DU community that I promise to stay in my lane and not venture to far from the Asian gruoup. I deeply apologize to all DU members for posting material that the DU took offense.

Please don't leave us. I'm really saddened at the lack of tolerance from some members.
Disagreement on issues, even questioning someone's source, that is understandable.
However, some people could really use to stop and think: would they want to be on the receiving end of what they are dishing out?
Which is likely to be more effective: probing questions that are designed to be at least courteous and to get the other person to take another look at their source? Or rude comments that imply that the poster is incapable of creating a good post?
As AI gets more sophisticated, it will get harder to tell the difference in how something is generated. I have seen posts that claim to help people know the difference, but I am not sure those methods are flawless.

... not because I think you should in any way "stay in your lane." Personally, I think your lane is all things democratic and I think DU would be a better community if more members were like you. You're one of my favorite persons here, Yui, and a big reason I frequent it.
As an aside, I often get frustrated with the DU community. There's an awful lot of groupthink in this place and an awful lot of intolerance -- though many in this community will never see that or acknowledge it. In fact, I'd say that odds are at least 50-50 that this post of mine will be reported and censored because it isn't groupthink enough for the true believers.
The fact that you were upbraided, Yui, leaves me shaking my head. Nuff said.
