Great endorsement!
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/king-bernie-sanders-best-candidate-president-article-1.2498007?cid=bitly
Today on what happens to be Dr. King's birthday I am proud to endorse the presidential candidate who I believe most embodies the values and ideals of the man who scared the hell out of the American government and was assassinated in 1968 after so bravely fighting against the Vietnam War and for income equality.
As a general rule, I don't trust many politicians, but I trust Bernie Sanders the man walks the walk and talks the talk. He is, without a doubt, the most consistent politician in America and has been fighting for universal health care, access to education, equal pay, equal rights and the complete overhaul of how we do justice in this country for his entire career. I dig it.

(19,326 posts)Shaun;s stumping for Bernie, and putting his passion, time & energy on the
line in support of getting the word out to the AA community.
YES!!!!!!!
Frankly I wish this^ was the new endorsement that Bernie had a presser for
yesterday. It's much more significant and potentially game-changing.

(17 posts)Shaun King is not a good thing. Shaun is a white dude pretending to be a POC and is a fraudster...

(17 posts)Who is under the bus, Bernie or Shaun King? I just don't think Bernie should welcome an endorsement from a BLM fraudster. Shaun is a white dude pretending to be AA while collecting donations with no record of using the money to help people in need.

The only people contending he is white are right-wing websites.

(17 posts)I'm biracial Irish Norwegian. Does ginger count as a POC? No matter, but Shaun King is a fraudster and has stolen money under the BLM cause. Face facts and hold him accountable.

(62,325 posts)those who used his mic to condemn Bernie. He generated a lot of anger as it was obvious at the time that he knew nothing of Bernie's history but was going along with the attempt to prevent Sanders from becoming known to AAs.
So this endorsement deserves a lot of credit as he gradually learned who really was the person who had fought his entire life for minorities.
He admits he knew nothing, so that is a vindication for those who told him that back then.
I admire someone who takes the time to listen, which he did over time, especially after he himself was attacked by Breitbart's infamous clowns and accused of not being bi-racial. It was Bernie supporters who came to his defense.
It is an important endorsement considering King's own history. He no is no longer a FPer at DK and free to express his own opinions.
Bernie has jumped from 1% to over 30% approval rating among AAs now that they have come to know him, and that is only going to continue and no doubt snowball as people like King, and many others help spread the truth about Bernie.
I for one will not forget those who tried to paint Bernie and his supporters as 'racists'. Forgive, well, yes, 'for they know not what they do' but forget, no.
