Related: About this forumTelling that the Mayor of Flint MI endorsed Clinton?
Clinton Super PAC hack on All Due Respect made this comment.
Also hitting Bernie on guns and middle class taxes.
Is there a tragedy they would not exploit for their political reasons?
What it tells me: No.

(38,613 posts)No.
If 9/11 wasn't too tragic to exploit, nothing is.

(37,748 posts)It's only exploitation when candidate A does it, yet merely sincere concern and "speaking truth to power" when candidate B does it.
It's only triangulation when candidate A does it, simple outreach when candidate B does it.
Hopefully, the end of the primaries will allow many clever posters to begin acting rational again. But that's merely a hop on my part rather than expectation.

I guess sliming and attacking literally anyone who does not support Bernie is how one runs a "different kind of campaign" that's not negative at all right?

(23,720 posts)She is personally taking credit for telling Governor Snyder to "cut it out" and ask for Federal assistance when in fact Rachael Maddow, an activist Dr, Michael Moore and Jessie Jackson went there before her. She exploited the situation to make herself look like she is powerfull enough to make a Republican get off his ass, when in fact, she had nothing to do with it.
That's how.
synergie
(1,901 posts)provide your links and evidence to back up these claims.
She's taking credit for her own statements and the actions that happened afterwards, and the whining the came with it citing her specifically?
Yes, Maddow had been covering it for a week, with no response, Dr. Mona was ignored since September of 2014, Michael Moore has been dismissed as a liberal kook, and Jessie Jackson's visit and anything that was said produced zero action.
She said something and then stuff happened, and the whining began. She actually WAS powerful enough to shame him into getting off his duff, when she had quite a lot to do with it, AS HIS REACTION shows.
So the "how" seems to be just making up stuff, and claiming that the person on the ground dealing with the issue, like the Mayor somehow is lying, or just to stupid to have a grip on what's going on in her own town, right?
Where is the exploitation? Oh, when she contacted the Stabenow and Kildee and sent people down there to figure out the status of the testing and the funds and to see what federal action could be taken?
I think you're just upset that Bernie did absolutely nothing but call for Snyder to resign, as if that somehow dealt with the problems at hand.

Lucinda
(31,170 posts)you could probably take a moment or two of your time, if you are really interested, to find the video of Clinton calling out the governor, or the articles I've read about Clinton sending people to Flint to find out what was needed and what she has done about it.
notadmblnd
(23,720 posts)You claim it, you provide the evidence. Calling the Gov out is nothing that others didn't do before her.

(1,901 posts)pretty well laid out, check out local michigan media and the Mayor's own words. If you need an illustration of the cheapness of talk, perhaps you should see what Bernie has done, other than talk. What steps has he taken to remedy the situation, since as a Democratic candidate in the primaries they both have equal responsibilities to remedy the situation.

(1,901 posts)Why exactly are you suggesting that the Mayor would be so easily manipulated and dictated to anyway? Is it just because she stated some facts about what the only candidate to actually show interest in the situation has done, or is it something else about that Mayor that is leading you to make such insulting and baseless attacks?

Well I do and I know that, none of her people there have turned off the spicket that supplies the poisoned water to Flint's residents. And no, there is no one from HRCs staff currently working on digging and building a new pipeline. And I'm certain that she has no boots on the ground dispensing cases of bottled water to the city's residents. She's done nothing that others didn't do before she decided to take credit for it.
It is sad and pathetic that people here- who really have no clue can stand up and defend someone who exploits a tragedy for their own political purposes.

Monmouth University has a new national poll out that casts some fascinating, if very preliminary, light on this subject. Compared to its poll in December, Monmouth shows Sanders making pretty big gains: Clinton was up 59-to-26 last month, and only 52-to-37 now. But among black and Latino voters, Clinton has actually expanded her lead from 61-to-18 to 71-to-21. In other words, a legitimate "Sanders surge" nationally has coincided with a deterioration of his standing with the voters he will most need for a breakthrough after the first two contests of the primary season.

When people are gunned down in a church in SC, in a meeting in Cali, and so on; it says a lot about those dismissing us who are calling for change as using tragedies for political reason.
Sanders is using the tragedy that is income inequality EVERY SINGLE DAY. More and more of us are waking up to the fact of how many economic justice only people there are out there. You would never pose the same verbiage towards Sanders daily use of a tragedy. I wouldn't as Sanders is right to do what he is doing.
Consistency.
