Iowa Caucus participant Brandi Dye is not ready to caucus for Sanders just yet.

Last week, I told one of my friends that I am still not sure who I am going to caucus for. We are both hardcore liberals, but she might be harder core than me. She offered to watch the debate with me, so she could “steer me in the right direction.” Yes, she really said that. But then I had to come clean: as of Jan. 17, 2016, I do not think I am going to caucus for Bernie Sanders. My friend was not ready for that. She has been feeling the Bern for months and we generally agree when it comes to politics.

Honestly, the more I hear Sanders speak, the more I feel that he is making promises he would not be able to fulfill in the presidency. Yes, it would be great to tax the hell out of Wall Street, make college free, and create a universal healthcare system. But that is most likely not going to happen in the next 4 to 8 years. Especially because whoever becomes president will be going into a Republican controlled Congress that loves to shut the government down anytime they do not get their way.

Bernie is cool and consistent, but he is not a miracle worker (at least not to my knowledge). Sanders prides himself on his Republican enemies. That does not sound like a recipe for bipartisan productivity. I love the sound of his promises; I just do not think they are plausible. I hate to say it, but taxing Wall Street more will not solve all of America’s problems.

8. I Hope Brandi Dye Will Reconsider And Read This Before The Iowa Caucus.....

One thing is right - that whoever becomes president will be going into a Republican controlled Congress that loves to shut the government down anytime they do not get their way. But ask yourself this question - would you rather have a person that has ideas to change Congress and better us - or would you rather have a President that will just maintain the status quo?

Bernie has goals to change things. He's maintained these goals over his entire political career. As an Independent he has a good record in Congress with getting along with both Parties. I don't know if I agree with the statement 'that he prides himself on his Repug enemies. On the contrary - I think he prides himself on the cooperation he's found with both Parties.

He is not just going to maintain status quo. With the help of The People that elected him he will continually push for his goals and will make and take any progress towards those goals. For Example: Baby steps - just like ACA changed the complexion of health care it set the stage for the current debate as to its future. I want a person that will push Congress to make the right decision for us - one that will push for single payer - rather than one that will just settle for less because they don't think they can achieve the best.

Hillary comes in with the Clinton stigma to begin with. She (the Clinton's) has/have their enemies and that ain't gonna change. If Congress was uncooperative with Obama they will continue to be uncooperative with Hillary. If fact, there might even be more resistance to her than is/was with Obama.

We can see the differences between these candidates now during the run-up to the nomination. We know their positions on health care, Wall Street, college, etc. And those differences are great.

I'm going to support Bernie over Hillary because he hasn't given up or changed directions over his entire career and I know that he will fight for us. To me - he is the future.
