Sanders hits Clinton Adviser for saying she needs to 'shake some sense' into Iowans

A spokesman for Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders slammed an adviser to rival Hillary Clinton for saying she had delivered a speech meant to "shake some sense" into Iowans.

Michael Briggs called the statement, which was attributed to a Clinton adviser by CNN, a "strange" way to gain support.

"This is a strange way to appeal to Iowans who already have a lot of common sense," Briggs said in a statement Thursday to CNN. "That's why they picked Barack Obama in 2008 and that's why we are confident they will caucus for Bernie on February 1."

Oh man. This is not going to go over well in Iowa, as it wouldn't in any state. This is "late-night-joke worthy" and has the potential to go viral. You can't possibly recover or defend it, if that happens. Will be interesting to see if this fizzles or takes on a life of its own.

No one from any campaign should ever insult or belittle the citizens of the state, unless you want them to vote for your opponent.

Bernie handled it well. That man is a smart campaigner!

Someone from the HRC said something unbecoming.......was it also to Iowans?

Hate when that happens.

People with doubts about the Clinton campaign might see it as a Kinsley gaffe.

It is not only brilliant but beautiful as well. Truly unusual, watching this campaign unfold. It has very impressive projections. Additionally, I just feel happy after I watch one. I am not sure I have ever observed any other candidate run while consistently posting ads that make a person feel good about our candidate and our Country.
