Senator Jeanne Shaheen on MSNBC right now red baiting Bernie

This is pathetic. I expect this will be in the news shortly as well.
The establishment is so lost, they've not a clue and are so out of touch with reality. Do they even realize that Bernie has given progressives a spring board to run against incumbents who aren't progressives? (See http://trofire.com/2016/01/13/debbie-wasserman-schultz-might-lose-her-seat-to-progressive-primary-opponent/ and he's one of many)

Craig Melvin was just interviewing Senator Jeanne Shaheen on MSNBC right now and asked her about the reports of the Clinton's making in excess of $300 million from speaking fees since 2001 (over $300 million? Holy shit!) and asked if that was a good idea.

She danced, she danced hard, at first she didn't answer the question at all and went off about Mars isn't a planet or something and then Craig confronted her and cornered her. Her response;

"This is in the past, just like Bernie's socialism is in the past".

Hey dumb shit, you want to REALLY bring up the past? Do you REALLY want to red bait Bernie because if Hillary, her campaign & her surrogates do this, it won't be pretty. I guess the Clinton campaign forgot that YouTube exists.

When Dems start screaming "socialism", it's time for them to go! Period. They're out of touch.

A while back that if Bernie were to be elected, we might have the fears of Ralph Nader, Chris Hedges, and others confirmed. Were Democrats to begin working together with Republicans to further slice and dice the few Socialist institutions we've got left, to promote wars without end, and advance corporate goals, we'd truly see the nature of the parties, and how close they are, how little they actually care about what the bulk of us humans think.

We'd begin to understand why nothing substantial ever gets done, because the parties are very close, and this adopting of New Third Way, Wall Street Democrats, has brought us to a place where our politicians are in it for the oligarchy. And only minor differences exist, in how well the "wage-slaves" exist.

Once that is confirmed, we can dismiss all of the old conventions. We can pull for our own parties, or try to work outside of the system somehow to affect change.

I'd prefer to think if Sanders gets elected, that most Democrats would actually try to work with him to get things done, but from the reactions of some of our haughty Democratic Senators, they don't seem to care much more about us than the Republicans do. They like their positions on-high, and they seem to agree that we should grovel and struggle, to serve them, while they sit up there and enjoy the privilege we provide from our giving up of necessities.

No, he has not been handled with kid-gloves. We can thank Clinton and her surrogates from day one putting Sanders in the fire of a dirty campaign. Y'all have accused him of racism, sexism, naivete, incompetence, attacked his history, impugned his character, attacked traditionally Democratic positions like universal health care just in an effort to score points, and are now red baiting. Y'all do know that the red scare is over right?

And he has handled every last bit of it with intelligence, wit, and his supporters have fought back against the lies and the bullying as well as supporting him financially.

We are going to be just fine against the GOP in November. Between Trump on one side and Clinton on the other, Sanders and his supporters are more than ready to fight all the way to the White House.

Thanks so much for doing your part. You can rest soon.

Have people really understood what is happening to her campaign?

She lost 7 points in Iowa, in December alone. There wasn't much going on then in Iowa. The candidates were campaigning, but the pace was pretty low key.

Now, we're into January, and Bernie is ahead according to Quinnipiac and CNN (by 5 and 8, respectively).

Hillary Clinton has lost between 15-17 points in Iowa, in the last 7 weeks.

Her campaign is taking on water and the bridge is vertical. You can see Rose and Jack hanging on for dear life.

This did not happen in 2008. She went into the caucuses only a few points behind in the polls, according to the last Iowa Poll that was released the Saturday before the caucus.

She had a solid core of support throughout the fall going into the 08 caucus.

The dynamics this time around are far, far worse for Clinton.

105. Well .... While I cannot understand WHY
Fri Jan 22, 2016, 11:10 PM
Jan 2016

The media .. the Clinton Campaign and the long trail of DLC lackeys ALL disbelieved that Bernie could gain any traction ...

I am guessing that many of those 'thinkers' are living in the past ... There are new realities in the electorate that happen to coincide with the thrust of Bernie's policies ... I am sure Bernie has ALWAYS said the same things for every season - Because he focuses on the same frustrations and difficulties that REGULAR people face, day in and day out, for years and decades ... The same problems - The same solutions ... It just so happens that the ELECTORATE is listening to him and responding positively ...

EVERYBODY senses that everything is out of whack ... Bernie has struck a chord with the disaffected, and, they happen to form a large group this moment in time .. a very large group ...

I also think the presence of a STRONG social media interface ... unheard of in the past, have created this huge, many tentacled multi-billion channel communications system that has essentially BYPASSED the media, which is the normal channel for political indoctrination ... As long as they DONT report about Bernie, so they thought, nobody will hear his message ... His ideas would die on the vine ...

So they thought ....

I am pretty sure the Clinton camp was deeply invested in this notion .... Just yesterday we are hearing how they are all so 'gobsmacked' by the ascendance of Bernie Sanders ... They cannot believe he got through the media gauntlet - told his message - and SUCCEEDED in getting a strong buy in from a harried and harshly treated electorate ...

Yeah ... They were gobsmacked by their own limited thinking ... The Bernie phenomena is an eye opener .. a new paradigm shift that will change HOW campaigns are conducted for years to come ....

So many young people believe in a future ... THAT die is cast now ... There is a good chance that they will adopt these ideas and embrace them for their lives .... Why ? .. because it's OPTIMISTIC ....

It's refreshing to know that the most popular political ad of the season has no words .... THOSE images are optimistic images ... THAT is how you capture hearts and minds ....

Bernie's got this ! ....

50. The Bernie camp doesn't take the slightest critisism well. It's laughable. YOu think this is bad?

If Bernie is the D nominee you'll see real criticism and it won't be pretty. Better get to your safe space.

We aren't the ones having to resort to using "safe words" to try and justify our hate with ads that run at 3am.
Have fun with that.

But I see this thread is all about this .....

FWIW, she's not a "dumb shit" and your choice of words is really unsuited to DEMOCRATIC Underground. I think her resume would compare favorably to yours any day of the week ... "Senator pinebox."

I guess Shaheen decided to apply for membership to the Status Quo club. VP, Hillary Clinton,=. Treasurer, Bill Clinton.
Probably promised a job in the Hill Administration.

If Hillary loses Iowa, the knives will be out to rescue her campaign in New Hampshire.

The charges of 'communist' and 'socialist' and 'anti-American' from Hillary and her surrogates is going to get red hot (pun intended).

Hey, this is what campaigns are about: charge and counter-charge; testing; debating; giving it and taking it.

My eyes are fully open about Bernie Sanders and the kinds of stuff they are going to throw at him.

(The ironic thing is that the Hillarians didn't even want Mrs. Clinton to face a serious challenge ... and look what has happened.)

I found this web site that has a lot of what we will be hearing about soon ... I can't vouch for this site, but this is the kind of stuff Bernie is going to get.

http://www.keywiki.org/Bernie_Sanders

I think that one of the brilliant political things Bernie has done is 'own' who he is, what he is, what has been his record, etc.

The Sanders campaign is ready for whatever the opposition trots out ... I'm not worried, they are very smart.

You demonstrate-with Perfection that which the Base you choose to ignore is Fed Up with and Pissed Off about!
Thank you Shaheen...another lost supporter. We see "who" and "what" you represent.
