1. NASCAR has done a great job of expanding their base out of the deep south....

I have lot of Friends who are democrat that love NASCAR. Me, I had my fill of souped up cars in my youth. With only three networks to entertain, it was great fun to hang out with my buddies in garages tinkering around with cars.

i was trying to pick-up a ball game so I could hear the scores about Cleveland. I swear to god, they were broadcasting NASCAR on the radio. Now that seemed crazy too me.

But now, there a lot of motor heads who love the NASCAR. I don't get the it but hey, I suppose they don't understand a fifty-four year old man still buying comic books.

Making the margin of error ridiculously high; so high as to be unworthy of reporting.

I could buy that he leads among military families, but NASCAR fans? Ain't no way.

I don't imagine the result would be anything like this. But there are only really 3 drivers left from the South in NASCAR full-time and the fanbase has shifted accordingly to an extent.

You're hilarious! As if southern support for NASCAR dried up when drivers came out of other states! Enjoy your stay!

but it's not a sport that's appeal is limited to the south anymore. People in the south have pretty similar support for NASCAR (though it has weakened a bit due to poor administration), but support from outside the traditional viewing area kind of cancels the southerners out to an extent. This poll is still impressive, just not as much as it would have been in 1985.

Most of the drivers hail from locations other than the South. NASCAR tracks with sanctioned races are everywhere from coast to coast. Catch up before you embarrass yourself.

I don't get it. The sport bores me, but I see their stickers all over the place ... especially that 3 for Dale Earnhardt.

My point was that NASCAR fans are everywhere, not just in blue states like Rhode Island. The poll of NASCAR fans is not skewed by blue state participation, it is everywhere. Southern fans still exist in great numbers and did not bail simply because drivers come from elsewhere, too. Get it? Maybe you should try to understand before attempting to school other people.
