2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIt's really weird to be on the edge of a major storm
(On edit: Ooops. Accidentally posted this here instead of General Discussion as intended.)
Here in the central New England/Upstate New York region it's really strange at the moment. It's overcast, a little chilly and windy, but otherwise calm and quiet.
On the TV the mid Atlantic and upper south are getting hammered and there is a definite crisis. The Mayor of New York is telling everyone to hunker down.
Here? Meh. Business as usual. Nothing dramatic expected.
But if the storm shifts a few miles or does anything unexpected, it's possible that this calm midwinter day could quickly shift -- WHAM! Big time blizzard.
A roll of the cosmic dice.

(23,867 posts)She was a small child. They let school out, and the kids had to make their own ways home. She said the only thing that saved her was a cable that ran along the side of the road. As she hung on, she said there were animals flying through the air, and even entire roofs from houses. After it was all over, there were worms everywhere, and from that moment on she has been afraid of worms.
I hope you don't have to experience anything like that.
