What Bloomberg’s entry would do for Trump

Former NY mayor’s candidacy could split the vote and give Trump the White House

Every now and then a stopped clock is right. Speculation about a presidential bid by Michael Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York, is a quadrennial affair. It never happens because Mr Bloomberg can do the maths. Third party candidates do not win in America — they usually come away with nothing. But 2016 is different. The political laws of gravity are in suspension. If there was ever a moment for a New York billionaire to roll the dice, now would be it. The question is what would happen if he did.

According to those around him, the prospect is not academic. “People here are talking about nothing else,” says a friend who works at Bloomberg’s news operation. The three-times mayor of New York has commissioned polls to look at how he would fare in a three-way race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Should Bernie Sanders be the Democratic nominee, Mr Bloomberg’s temptation would grow. Who then would speak for voters who believe in free trade, internationalism and global alliances? Not Mr Trump, for sure. Nor Mr Sanders. Enter Mayor Bloomberg.

the bold was mine. the poor beleaguered 1%... whoever will speak for them?

screw him, and it won't work. this is clearly the last gasp of the establishment trying to cling to power.

dems will nominate bernie
repubs will nominate trump

the establishment 1% ers will support bloomberg. the people pissed off at the oligarchy will support trump or sanders. and since there are a LOT more of us than them, it guarantees bernie or trump in the white house.

"If no candidate receives a majority of Electoral votes, the House of Representatives elects the President from the 3 Presidential candidates who received the most Electoral votes. Each state delegation has one vote. The Senate would elect the Vice President from the 2 Vice Presidential candidates with the most Electoral votes. Each Senator would cast one vote for Vice President. If the House of Representatives fails to elect a President by Inauguration Day, the Vice-President Elect serves as acting President until the deadlock is resolved in the House. "

. . .on those agendas. Not even Hillary supporters.

"Free trade", "internationalism" and "global alliances" are just not very sexy items for a political campaign; and most especially not for American workers, too many of whom blame the aforementioned items for lost jobs.

Another thing: He sure as hell won't get votes from the gun nuts out there. He has blamed lax gun laws in the red states too many times for mass shootings, IIRC.

Rat *astard. PROOF TPTB, including the Democratic Party elites, would prefer an INSANE, DEMENTED, RACIST, BIGOTED PIG to be president rather than Bernie.

Problem is, Bloomberg gets ZERO VOTES from Bernie supporters and takes Trump votes, so BERNIE WILL BE OUR NEXT PRESIDENT.

Bloomberg is only getting in the race if BERNIE IS THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE.

Bloomberg certainly isn't taking ANY votes away from populist Bernie! No one planning to vote for Bernie would ever switch to Bloomberg. That's just stupid.

Bloomberg is Only entering the race if BERNIE and Trump are the nominees.

Proof positive TPTB, including the Democratic Party elites, prefer a racist, bigoted, demented, lying, evil PIG to be President rather than Bernie - Who is going to bring their House of Cards Down.
Their gravy train ends the day Bernie enters the WH.
