(6,280 posts)... endorsed Hillary, and told everyone to either get on the bus or fuck off? Yeah, that would be great.

(14,177 posts)She can't really be helped by endorsing Bernie so I don't want to see her be a target by endorsing him. She might be helped if she endorses Hillary, but I think it would be against her principles so that would hurt her reputation. Telling both sides she isn't getting into the fighting between us would strike me as funny.
BTW No. There is a reason she decided to not run and this isn't very nice to keep hammering at.

(40,416 posts)How many times does Elizabeth Warren have to state that she wants to be a US Senator and has no aspersions for the White House?
I love Elizabeth Warren. However, her words apparently meant nothing to the delusional Elizabeth Warren group where, like all candidate groups, never is heard a discouraging word.
Or, even worse, I am a Bernie Sanders supporter who has been banned from the Bernie Sanders group because I supported the banning of a DUer who flagrantly violated the DU TOS. Apparently the Bernie Sanders group should rename themselves the "Manny Goldstein Fan Club". Certainly there is absolutely no meaningful discussion going on there when even a disagreement about DU rules results in a banning.
I have not posted in the Hillary Clinton or Martin O'Malley groups. I suspect that they will be just as delusional as the Elizabeth and Bernie groups, and equally immune to facts.
Dunning-Kruger effect in play.
I would vote for elimination of the candidate safe havens in a second. They serve no purpose here when they are banning their own supporters.
The only group I am ignoring is the Bernie Sanders group, er, maybe They should call themselves the Manny Goldstein-ignore the DU TOS group.
And I am a Bernie Sanders supporter!!!!
Fuck candidate groups! They do no fucking good here.

(9,497 posts)I stay out of all the groups I don't belong to. I realize they are rah rah clubs for the stated topic. Good news, fun videos, mild sniping at other groups. Sometimes informative, sometimes just team building. They are not really debate spaces with opposing views
Discussions like the ones you seem to like are in the GDP or GD. You can't be banned from there.
I kind of have a low tolerance for the wailing from anyone about being banned from certain areas. It just sounds like a victim.

(40,416 posts)And Manny clearly violated the TOS by inviting DUers to not support the nominee if it is not Bernie.
It is when delusion leads to fossilization of thinking that our collective goals melt away. (Sorry for the mixed metaphor.)
I see no use for the candidate groups other than to divide us all. The only group I support is the O'Malley group. They are decent blokes. I really like him. Too bad he is in the basement.
I will vote for Bernie in the MI primary and will vote for the Democratic nominee in November. Anybody who won't commit to the latter does not belong here. If one does not profess such a thing in the candidate groups, one will be banned. Fuck 'em.
artislife
(9,497 posts)I hope not to fossilize by duking it out in the GDP.
I consider it to be like doing puzzles or sudokus to keep away alzheimers...lol

(40,416 posts)He chose to go over the line.
A line that Skinner clearly laid down. I have no sympathy for those who test those rules. And who in the fuck decided that the Bernie group was the Manny Goldstein group?
Fuck the candidate groups! They serve no use except to divide us. (AFAIK, except the Martin O'Malley group.)

(40,416 posts)This is a partisan political forum aligned to the Democratic Party. If you disagree with that, as Manny did, go for it and see what happens here.
There are many other political forums one can post to, however this one is Democratic Underground, not Manny Goldstein Underground. And the Bernie Sanders group should not be the Manny Goldstein group, except that they are. And denying the DU TOS is okay as long as they agree with the group's perceived opinion of the candidate. Well, how in the Sam Hell can that work? Many, many Bernie supporters will vote for any Democratic nominee over any GOP nominee. But saying so in the delusional Bernie Sanders group gets one banned!
I say. Ban candidate groups. They do no good, and much evil here. (Sorry, O'Malley group, the only one I see as well behaved. But I suspect that you all would be well behaved notwithstanding.)

(16,916 posts)but the line "Warren...has no aspersions for the White House" cracked me up. I think you meant "aspirations" otherwise you're saying that Warren has no disparaging remarks for the White House, at least not at this time
I should certainly hope not.

(40,416 posts)I wish I could claim iPhone spell check, but I cannot. I will leave my original post as is. Sometimes folks just mess up. I plead guilty and unembarassedly stand corrected. It is always important to be proved wrong. That is the way one learns.
My best to you.

(40,416 posts)And yes, part of the reason why I left it is because I do not mind laughing at myself, and partially that I think one should admit to ones errors.
My best to you.

(40,416 posts)I have no idea what dialog went on between Manny and admins. But if he refused to self-delete the post in question, I would have tombstoned him, too.
The DU TOS is pretty damned clear on this, as Skinner has made very clear. This forum is neither Manny Underground, nor is it Bernie Underground. We support Democrats here.
I support and work for Bernie, but I will vote for whichever candidate obtains the Democratic Party nomination. If one will not commit to that, one does not belong here. Period!
Have a nice day.
