Why doesn't HRC just say THIS?

"while I currently don't think Senator Sanders ideas can get through congress, if I'm president and he gets any of his proposals passed, I will sign them...including single-payer".

She'd have nothing to lose, she would show the Sanders movement that it has her respect and she'd instantly bring the whole party together.

1. I don't think she likes single payer

Single payer would mean the end of a very sweet deal for insurance companies.

2. Because that looks bad on her too now.

She didn't just argue that it wasn't politically viable. She argued it was a bad idea (tax increases - without mentioning no private premiums! Medicare dismantled! No more private insurance! The ACA being redundant wouldn't actually mean "millions and millions and millions" of people would be left uncovered like she said! Cats and dogs living together!)

There's a basic dishonesty and incoherence with her position, but it becomes even more so if she reverses on it now. And it wouldn't "bring the whole party together", because who would believe her if she said it now? Besides, a Senator Sanders wouldn't have the public platform to make the case for it (over time) of a President Sanders, which is the whole point. No one thinks it's going to happen overnight, and without any effort from the top.

3. The other thing is she can't support Bernie's ideas.

Unless she is just outright stealing them. Supporting his ideas would mean there is literally no reason for her to be running for President.

4. It would sure be more honest than what Sanders is peddling.

In 2010, Sanders said "single payer would have 8 to 10 votes, that's it." Not much has changed. He submitted a single payer bill in 2009, it died. Another bill was submitted in early 2015, it got nowhere.

But, I can definitely see Sanders promoting it over and over and still getting nowhere. Universal health care, with a public option has a better chance of passing by improving ACA. Clinton is right about that.

5. Why not post his answer to that situation?

Why not stop being part of the problem with your negative BS and join the majority of US citizens who are marshaling to take the country back? Or do you think that getting voter turnout numbers up substantially by uniting people on economic issues is impossible?

Just because the corporatists have - by plan - been successful in splitting us on social issues doesn't mean that their strategy if preordained to succeed forever. The social conditions their policies have created has pushed us to the limits of tolerance and now WE have a plan to take control back.

Join us or get out of the way.

6. Because she already has a long record on liberal issues, and position papers, and she's running....

....her own campaign, not his.

But I'm sure she'll give your suggestion her earnest consideration as soon as you send it to her.

10. Because she only wants Bernie to stand up for her, not the other way around.

I think the most disgusting thing that has come out of her campaign is the way they beat up on Bernie (which is fine) and then turn around and say Bernie is going negative and he said he wouldn't do that! when he defends himself against those attacks.

It reminds me of that one friend we all had while growing up that always said "I'm telling!" whenever they wanted to make you look bad.

I've lost a lot of respect for Hillary over the last few months.
