If Hillary wins the nomination and Bernie runs as an independent, who do you support?

Seen a lot of talk about Bloomberg and whatever hypothetical support he would have. So I want to know, if Hillary wins the nomination fair and square and Bernie decides to run as an independent, who do you support? A lot of people are saying they'll support the Democratic nominee, but I have a hard time believing Bernie supporters will support Hillary over Bernie if that's what it came down to.

to attempt to run as an independent after contesting a party's nomination, because "sore loser laws" would prevent him from getting on the ballot in many states where he had already appeared on a primary ballot.

You have nothing to worry about with dyed in the wool Democrats, they will hold their nose and vote for Hillary. Those who are recent dems, indies and sometime voter, will probably not vote for Hillary. The Democratic party only has about 29% of those who are registered to vote, and of those 29%, many will not vote for Hillary.

What Hillary supporters fail to see is that the surges for Bernie, are for BERNIE, not the Democratic party. You can bet that the vast majority of new to the election process will not vote for Hillary, no matter what Bernie asks them to do. They are coming for the revolution, not to keep things the same. They will go back home and keep their heads down hoping to make it until someone else comes along that offers them REAL CHANGE, not smoke and mirrors. Or they will write in a vote for Bernie any way, create a new party that will destroy the Democratic party, or say 'fuck it' nothing will ever change and start an armed revolution.

one screaming exception...if bernie gets the delegates through popular vote and the supers steal it for hillary by refusing to switch, then all bets are off, since that will be an illegitimate nom.

thinking that unlikely, however, since they know such a move would destroy whats left of the party.

That's what I'm waiting to see. I don't support her in the primary. Hell, I think I'd probably choose O'Malley in the primary over Hillary. I'm not nearly as much of a "Bernie supporter" as I am a "Hillary skeptic".

However, I'm taking a wait and see approach as to what kind of General election campaign she runs. Will she continue this negativity and aversion with regard to the concept of looking for big change? Or will she and Bill continue their "Hey, things suck get used to it." attitude?

Will she move to the left and adopt a more progressive tone to her campaign and it's goals? Or will she hippie punch her way to trying to get the approval of the beltway media and people who she will never, ever get to support her no matter what she says and does?

I'm not committing to anything either way at this point.

Senator Sanders has drummed up a lot of support. He has tapped into, and struck the nerve of people who are fed up, and feel marginalized or jaded with the status quo.

One thing the Senator is not: stupid. A Hillary/Trump or Hillary/Cruz (or any other general) with a third party Sanders would guarantee a Republican win. I can't imagine for a second that Senator Sanders would do that. At the end of the day he cares too much. If he can't win the Democratic ticket, he knows he won't win the presidency as a 3rd party candidate. Worse, he will likely lose much of his credibility, and a not so insignificant number of his supporters.

This is insulting and demeaning to those who support the Senator, and would be every bit as wrong to suggest or ask people who declare loyalty if Hillary ran 3rd party.

Yes, if Hillary wins, some of the support that Sanders garnered will be bitter enough to risk a Republican presidency. I don't agree with it, but it is their vote and their right. With all that's at risk, I'm hoping that number won't be enough to cost us the Presidency.

I am not in those number, but I'm sure that there are democrats that support Hillary, that won't support Sanders as well. I don't agree with them, but again it is their vote and their right.
