Hillary once called for people on welfare to move from "dependency to dignity"

Just thought we'd have a little memory refresher. In supporting her husbands gutting of Welfare via the 1994 Welfare Bill:

"Since we first asked mothers to move from welfare to work, millions of families have made the transition from dependency to dignity." -- Hillary Clinton

You know, all those undignified moms, the welfare queens, sitting on their butts all day taking all your tax dollars /s
Sounds like something that would come out of Marco Rubio's mouth, but it was Hillary.

“There were people in the White House who said, ‘just sign anything,’ you know,’ the New York senator said in an interview. ‘And I thought that was wrong. We wanted to do it in a way that kept faith with our goals: End welfare as we know it, substitute dignity for dependence, but make work pay." -- Hillary Clinton

http://www.buzzfeed.com/christophermassie/hillary-clinton-used-to-talk-about-how-the-people-on-welfare#.kwMOOvD5N

Oh thank you so much for your consideration Hillary, you've done such a great job looking out for minorities which the welfare bill unfairly targets! /s

If only there was a candidate who had the foresight to see this and who voted NO to a welfare bill which unfairly targeted minorities. What's that you say? There is?!

Bernie Sanders on Clinton Welfare "Reform":

The bill, which combines an assault on the poor, women and children, minorities, and immigrants is the grand slam of scapegoating legislation, and appeals to the frustrations and ignorance of the American people along a wide spectrum of prejudices.

My concern is in the process of welfare reform, we begin to look at the causes of poverty in America, that we make sure that we improve the situation and not punish poor people and children, especially the children. --Bernie Sanders

http://www.c-span.org/video/?57136-1/welfare-reform

Thank you Bernie for standing up for the underprivileged and minorities, while others were spouting off Republican scapegoating talking points!

Neither was the settlement with Paula Jones:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/clinton/stories/jones111498.htm

President Clinton reached an out-of-court settlement with Paula Jones yesterday, agreeing to pay her $850,000 to drop the sexual harassment lawsuit that led to the worst political crisis of his career and only the third presidential impeachment inquiry in American history.

The settlement foreclosed the possibility that Clinton's personal life would be reopened for public inspection at a sensational trial had the lawsuit dismissed in April been reinstated, as many lawyers involved believed it would be. It also may help the president's allies defend him against independent counsel Kenneth W. Starr's allegations that he lied and obstructed justice during the case, while providing a new opportunity for the White House to cut a separate deal with Congress to drop impeachment proceedings.

Just hours before the settlement was inked yesterday, Starr sent new evidence to the House Judiciary Committee stemming from a witness in the Jones case, Kathleen E. Willey, who also accused Clinton of an unwelcome sexual advance.

Jones made no public comment, but her husband, Steve, told reporters outside their California condominium that the payment amounts to an apology on its own.

"Let the impeachment hearings begin. We want out of it," he said. "Paying a substantial amount of money makes a statement on its own. This is Paula's reputation that we were fighting for. This has nothing to do with an ax to grind with Bill Clinton."

When bankers that donate to Hillary wreck the economy and businesses either outsource or just downsize. It is pretty to imply independence, but that is useless without admitting that those at the top do not want anybody to BE INDEPENDENT FROM THEM! You cannot actually work to gain independence without making the people at the top play by rules, or else they will simply smash whatever tower of freedom you built. Ask people who saved and worked all their lives only to be broke thanks to some foul up in Wall street that some pampered kid or old boy probably got a raise for.

Of course that was completely evident with discussions on issues like Bernie's free college plan wherein the biggest concern to Hillary supporters was NOT the greater good such a program would accomplish, but rather the fact that they did not want to be forced to pay for Trump's kids to go to the Community College of their choice.

That details EXACTLY how these folks think. You're considered a FREELOADER, or LAZY, or UNDESIREABLE if you receive public assistance, so GET A JOB GRANDMA you Social Security and Medicare FREELOADER .
