(22,308 posts)New York should be progressive enough to vote for the (D). It is a pretty solid blue state.
If we assume NY stays blue, where can Bloomberg win? I don't see him getting one blue state. Maybe not any state.

(12,689 posts)That aside, it's really statistically insignificant and it is not good that Sanders only gets 59% of Democrats. With that sort of number, I would not expect a win.

(12,689 posts)As someone who has run for office, I have discovered that there are many different types of Democrats out there.

(12,689 posts)In suburbs, there are a lot of business minded Democrats that would be willing to vote for an independent like Bloomberg. I'm just explaining the type, the poll suggest that Bloomberg could attract crossover votes.

(13,877 posts)Now this is a rough quote, but a pundit (don't recall...so you can stop here if that bothers you) mentioned that there are only 13% old white guys...presumably one of HRCs strong holds...and over 80% young, POC, Asian, Mexican, Liberals, (real ones), LGBTQ , women etc.
Obviously they will all not vote for Sanders, or even a Democrat, but the idea is clear and it is why Bernie has so much enthusiasm. Many of that 80% have given up...stayed home...had been unrepresented, etc.
It took someone not hated in Washington, not from an Establishment Party, although having given them his almost total support for years. And many then welcomed his entry into their organization to help pull it out of Political Oligarchy and back into Democratic Values.
