Who's going to reparate me

for the brain cells I've lost reading these Palinesque interpretations of Sanders' use of the word revolution? Hillteam, if this 5th grade playground bullshit is the best you got, you might as well pack it in.

the "Hilteam" is using this issue as a political football, then why would you do the same? If that is true (I don't know if this is actually true, have not been in GDP enough to gauge) then this is an opportunity for the "Bernteam" to show they are better, right?

A great way to do that would be to actually understand the true racial history of our country and to examine the systemic abuse of the AA community and how it continues to this day, outside the context of partisan politics. Because it is a big and important topic for all progressives that goes beyond any single politician.

A great starter text for whites is Jim Wise's White Like Me. I found that a very helpful starting place for understanding my own privilege.

You're welcome!

But if it makes some feel more important, we should let them have it. Self importance, under the right circumstances, can turn to confidence in all areas of ones life. I can get behind that even if it is at the blatant abuse of the English language.

As for me, I've been looking for a fair shake and "reparations" for blacks in America for decades, not just a week ago.

I've fully supported Affirmative Action (a form of "reparations&quot since the 1960s, as well as other programs to "reparate" (in the OP's words) blacks in America.

Anyone only joining the bandwagon now so they can condemn Bernie is an opportunist, imo, because none of the candidates support reparations. If the issue is important we should care about all of the candidates' opinions, not just one.

If you're not doing that fine, but your associates have been for days.

What was done to our African American brothers and sisters is of the same level of malevolence

No need to trivialize it.

And maybe we should try to make reparations to the Native Americans while we're at it.
