2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumFor Sanders, Iowa is make or break
That is obviously not true for Clinton. It wouldn't be good portent for her in the general election, if she lost to him, but it wouldn't be catastrophic to her quest for the nomination.
Bernie has to either win Iowa or come within a very few points. If he's 10 points back, it's all over for him. Oh, not immediately; he won't drop out until she has it showed up, but with all the hype and expectations, he had to do very, very well in Iowa and win NH, to have a chance.
I don't have a clue what will happen in Iowa, but no result will surprise me. I do see it, however, as a different kind of test for Hillary: A test of her likability and trustworthiness v. her experience and knowledge.

(23,018 posts)It's close but she eeks out a small win and he wins NH with a large margin. He's still solidly in the race and she's seen to still be losing ground.

I am seeing a close win by Bernie. Enthusiasm is on his side. Many people are canvassing for him in very rural places.
