Establishment

3 (usu. the Establishment) a group in a society exercising power and influence over matters of policy or taste, and seen as resisting change.
• [ with adj. ] an influential group within a specified profession or area of activity: rumblings of discontent among the medical establishment.

Clearly Sanders is not part of the Establishment and Clinton is.

...and that was a pretty stupid thing to say. Despite this guys statement, it's still a pretty big stretch to say Bernie is part of the establishment as the term is being used this time around. If your definition of establishment is "Been there for a long time", then yes he is part of that establishment. If your definition of establishment is easily bought and paid for politician, then no, he is not part of that establishment.

...he's been pretty clear with his message for years that we have a corrupt political system that slows progress. That's what the railing against PAC's and such is about. He also regularly questions the priorities of Washington. The message that it doesn't only take one guy to change things is also on point. That's my take on it anyway. Quiet isn't a word I would use to describe Sanders at all...

When voters first see Bernie most go "Who is he?" The establishment line only works if someone is known. Who in the hell other than a moron would look at someone they never seen or heard anything about and say "Ah, so it's HIS fault that things are so bad." Too damn funny and Clinton supporters think this will stick.

The issue is not whether Clinton or Sanders are or aren't part of the establishment, but whether they are willing to stand up to the establishment - in order to reform the corrupt and corrupting power structures that have pervaded our socio-politico-economic life.

Clinton is the status quo candidate, Sanders is the man willing to reform. But please, let's all just focus on the definition of establishment. So important...
