As someone who's background is economics,

I'm wondering how Krugman is going to unwind himself from the hypocrisy he has created for himself during these primaries since he spends so much of his time advocating for government expenditures and against austerity and budget cutting?

advocates? Then why things like Federal employee wage freezes, the cat food commission, chained cpi, grand bargains, etc.?

They pick themselves up, give you a look that says, "I meant to do that," and go on as if nothing had ever happened. That's my prediction for Krugman.

single payer health care. We should have a more equitable tax system that pays for it by raising taxes on the rich. The tax cuts FOR the rich have not worked and indeed made things worse economically for the American people.

So the end is the same, the goals change. I think he will finally come around to his original plan. It's just that it is an election year so things get ugly...
