Des Moines, Iowa (CNN)Hillary Clinton urged voters Saturday to make gun control a key issue in the Iowa caucuses, pledging to take on the issue at an event where former Rep. Gabby Giffords endorsed the former secretary of state.
Giffords, the Arizona Democrat who was shot in the head during an appearance in front of a Tucson supermarket in 2011, called Clinton a "tough" and "courageous" candidate and pledged her support because Clinton "will stand up to the gun lobby."
"Speaking is hard for me," Giffords said, a nod to the fact that she is still recovering from the near-fatal shooting. "But in January 2017, I want to see these words, 'Madame President.'"

(12,655 posts)his very slight difference might be uncomfortable for very strong advocates, but i haven't seen anyone say its a deal breaker. a d- from nra is pretty good, from a safety advocacy perspective. and yes, he is used to being around people with guns who aren't killing each other, so his perspective reflects that imo

Please Bernie, just answer with that.

(13,877 posts)Hillary voted for All Those Guns to be manufactured and sent with our young folk off to war. Not to mention All The Guns that the MIC perhaps "accidentally" sold to the other side.
Bernie, OTOH, is a near pacifist, except for his rural hunting gun state. It's not like it's Chicago or LA or Dallas. And yes, as he moves on to the national stage, he has to take national needs into account. . When you are a Senator, you advocate for your voters. Where's the crime here?
