A lot of them are anti-Democrat and anti-progressive, but back HRC as the Dem most likely to keep the party as un-progressive as possible.
The MSM started proclaiming her as inevitable in 2007, and they've never really stopped.
At worst, all they've done is to ask her the same questions they ask anybody else who wants to be president.
HRC supporters used to just call that "vetting".

(114,904 posts)The first is that she becomes a better candidate when under pressure. The opposite is true.

(15,951 posts)Bernie hasn't yet come under the same scrutiny that she has by the media or by the Republicans.

(50,254 posts)Anybody else in HRC's position in the early part of the race would get the same treatment.
They did it to Kerry.
They did it to Gore.
They did it to Bill.
They did it to Dukakis.
They did it to Mondale.
They did it to Teddy the K when he was still creaming Carter in the polls.
If Bernie had started in the lead, they'd have done it to him, too.
It was never because it was her being the one in the lead.

(30,481 posts)That the media supports democrats. I have been hearing about the liberal media and the Clinton News Network from right wingers for over a decade.

(50,254 posts)in '92, the press went after Tom Harkin big-time...just because he presented a credible progressive challenge to Bill. They did the same to Jerry Brown when he became the progressive alternative to Bill by default.

(30,481 posts)We are all familiar with the right claiming the liberal media and their support of the Clintons. It is a right wing meme based in complete bullshit. While Rush agrees with you completely, I disagree with you completely. I never thought I would see the argument here that the media supports the Clintons and democrats.
Interestingly enough, you yourself have already stated that Clinton has recieved the most scrutiny of the dem candidates. I think you can hold down this debate on your own.

(50,254 posts)The media wants the Democratic ticket to be as conservative as possible.
HRC and Bill do not equal "The Democratic Party".
And we now know we never had to nominate a candidate as right-wing as Bill to win in '92.
Massive difference there.

(22,156 posts)asked. They have been after her since 1992 when she made that comment about baking cookies.
I suppose I could have stayed home, baked cookies and had teas, she said. I remember it clearly. How dare a woman actually have a career and outside interests! The media have been on her ever since.

(278 posts)If anything, the MSM has been Anti-Bernie since the beginning of this election cycle.
Another poster pointed out how the MSM has been in the tank for Hillary since before '07....I believe that as well
