Iowa Democratic Party Will Not Conduct Caucus Recount

By CAITLIN MACNEAL
FEBRUARY 2, 2016, 2:07 PM EST

A spokesman for the Iowa Democratic Party told the Associated Press on Tuesday that the party will not recount the results of the caucus despite how close the race was.

Earlier on Tuesday, a spokesman for the Sanders campaign told the AP they were "still assessing" whether to ask for a recount. The AP later reported that the Sanders campaign does not plan to challenge the results.

Sanders Campaign Manager Jeff Weaver told the Washington Post on Tuesday that the campaign will review the caucus results. He said the campaign will look over the tally sheets and look "into a few other issues."

"As an empirical matter, we’re not likely to ever know what the actual result was," Weaver told the Post. "I think everybody has an interest in making it as accurate as possible."

and that is what we can expect all the way through. All kinds of shenanigans. What will our party win? A title? If Madame Clinton wins the Whitehouse? What is gained for the people? A title? What else? We stopped the Republicans? SO sorry to have to reveal this but Clinton is a Republican posing as a Democrat.

I was referring to whomever spoke about not knowing the "actual results." Should we not want/expect to know the true results, regardless of how we might feel about them?

Bernie lost and now they're trying to imply it was a fraudulent result.

Dumbya. How is it that we got out the pitch forks for that fuck up and some of the folks here defend it when it happens to our own? Since when is it Dem to not let every vote be counted? WHat a pant load. One more reason to ignore HRC.

I know where you can find a bunch of principles. Here's just one:

Our democracy should work for everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected.

Hillary will:

* Overturn Citizens United.
* End secret, unaccountable money in politics.
* Establish a small-donor matching system to amplify the voices of everyday Americans.

“We have to end the flood of secret, unaccountable money that is distorting our elections, corrupting our political system, and drowning out the voices of too many everyday Americans. Our democracy should be about expanding the franchise, not charging an entrance fee.”
HILLARY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2015

There are dozens more where that came from: https://www.hillaryclinton.com/issues/campaign-finance-reform/

Enjoy!

Because she takes huge money from those very sources. They are her "Sponsors". Nice quote, great platitudes. Besides the above quote parroting Bernie, I've heard and seen with my eyes and ears her having countless positions on issues that matter from the War in Iraq, Marriage Equality, TPP, Keystone, etc. She comes off as say anything , do anything to get elected. Sorry I can't put my trust in that. The email thing? Poor poor judgement at best. No offense to you and her followers. I believe you think the lesser of two evils is our only choice here. I cannot believe that you haven't heard her take multiple positions on issues. I call it cognitive dissonance. I call it confirmation bias. I call it "willing to suspend disbelief". Well, I can't suspend my disbelief. It is Bernie or Bust for me.

Everyone I've talked to today about the Iowa caucuses is mocking the coin tosses.

What kind of idiots came up with rules that could have a results like this?

And nobody I've talked to or communicated with today on this topic thinks Mrs. Clinton was any kind of "winner".

This doesn't help the credibility of the Democrats, that's for sure.

Reading the Ire from the Bern supporters today and the shenanigans being reported all over Iowa, all I can say is that the Bernie supporters will be nothing but re-energized by all this.

Wait till New Hampshire!

Actually, they're "re-energized" any and every time something displeases them -- which is constantly. I like Bernie, but I will be glad when he is no longer running so all the nasty noise of a hostile crowd trying to burn down the Democratic barn is gone. Where, I don't care as long as it's gone.
