In fighting for single-payer, Bernie honors President Obama's original intent.

The president started out wanting single-payer. He never saw the watered-down nothingburger of the ACA as where things should end, or the only possible healthcare structure there ever could be.

And when single-payer passes, Bernie will most likely invite the president to the ceremony and praise him to the skies for what he tried to do, but was stopped short of doing by the establishment.

Obama is one of the giants whose shoulders we all stand on.

But the only reason to stand on a giant's shoulders is to reach higher than the giant was allowed to.

The fight for single-payer is the best tribute Bernie and the Democratic Party and all of us can pay to the heroism of the president in trying for what he tried.
