Want to see the rigged game in action? Tomorrow, the House will vote on a GOP bill to make it harder to investigate & prosecute bank fraud.

Its not equal justice when a kid gets thrown in jail for stealing a car, while a CEO gets a huge raise when his company steals billions.

(70 posts)How much money/votes does Warren get from the type of people who'd think this way?
cali
(114,904 posts)directly related to that support. Why do you think both candidates want her endorsement?
Recursion
(56,582 posts)Warren will obviously support the Democratic nominee in the fall, but there's literally zero to be gained for her picking one earlier because she doesn't bring any new voters to Sanders and she wouldn't bring any new voters to Clinton barring a coup de grace kind of scenario if Sanders goes on long past viability.

(30,481 posts)I'm sure other Sanders supporters agree with you. Progressive individuals and groups credibility has been attacked left and right by Sanders supporters. Even PP wasn't safe from viscous attacks.
As for Warren, I've said for a while she wouldn't personally benefit from endorsing until their is a clear winner. Even at that point she would most likely be given a speaking spot at the convention. Party unification. Warren is an excellent democrat.

(30,481 posts)I can back up every word I wrote with links. Of course I would have to PMthem to you. Seems to be common knowledge and sense though. Didn't realize it was even up for debate.

(58,785 posts)You nailed it, though, no glue needed. Elizabeth will be an idol if she endorses Bernie, and she'll be dragged through DU mud by her hair if she endorses Hillary.

(1,835 posts)Warren will support her. But not before then.
Recursion
(56,582 posts)with Sanders in Clinton's place, but I think that would burn more capital on her part than it would be worth.
Recursion
(56,582 posts)I can't think of anyone who would be swayed by her endorsement who isn't already supporting Sanders. She knows that; Clinton knows that; Sanders knows that. There's no gain for anyone by her endorsing either candidate.
If Clinton closes the gap a little in New Hampshire, takes Nevada and South Carolina, and rolls into Super Tuesday where Texas and several other large delegate counts await and where she currently holds big leads, then an endorsement of Sanders by Warren only minimizes her influence with a grudge-holding Madam President.
Warren will endorse when the time is right for her, and that will be when only one is left standing.

Do you even grasp the definition of 'implore'?
verb (used with object), implored, imploring.
1.
to beg urgently or piteously, as for aid or mercy; beseech; entreat:
They implored him to go.
2.
to beg urgently or piteously for (aid, mercy, pardon, etc.):
implore forgiveness.
verb (used without object), implored, imploring.
3.
to make urgent or piteous supplication.

(42,862 posts)Will she wait until it's clear that Bernie has no mathematical possibility of being able to win the nomination?
Or will she endorse Hillary before then? It'd difficult to tell.
I could be that she's wanting her endorsement of Hillary to have the biggest possible dramatic effect... she may want to avoid the possibility of having her endorsement of Hillary being "lumped-in" with ALL THE OTHER (the MANY MANY OTHER) endorsements from other Senators and political figures.
Or, she may be delaying to build interest... the "will-she/won't she" question is always a good device to get people on the edge of their seats and paying attention.
She's a smart one. Even if her "heart is with Bernie", perhaps she feels that it would be awkward to endorse someone that may believe has no chance of being the nominee. It's difficult to know for sure. I'm not a mind-reader, I'm just guessing.
But it will certainly be an interesting day on this web site when/if she finally does endorse someone.

(9,959 posts)...the nominee. She's in the running for VP, also... obviously for Bernie, although I think he will pick a "moderate" for balance. Less obviously for Hillary, who may go for gender balance. However, what Democrat would resist either a Clinton/Warren or Sanders/Warren ticket? Not me!

(12,655 posts)however, if bernie starts getting even more support and taking states, she might endorse him then. then again, if she does it then, it would be much less helpful than if she did it now and might be seen as a no risk latecomer to the bern party

(2,707 posts)so I don't really give a sht about what she thinks. She's like a Democratic Ted Cruz; says things the base wants to hear, but responsible for no useful legislation.
