How to fill the airwaves in the last month

There is a race to see who can buy up the most air time between now and the elecition. Both sides have alot of money and are running really irritating ads.

The DNC could actually take a different tack and be strategic all at the same time. They should buy up loads of at time and instead of running attack ads, run something more akin to "public service announcements". Simple 30 second ads celebrating various achievements of the US. How about an ad talking about Truman's brave efforts to integrate the US military. Or something about how Food Stamps, medicare and Social Security have created and supported the middle class. How about the civil rights bill? How about something about coming together to win WWII? They could even make a bit of a joke at the end and get people like Ken Burns, actors, or even people like Jimmy Carter to record "I'm Jimmy Carter and I approve of this ad". They'd be light. They'd be fairly close to nonpolitical. Except of course they'd all be about things favorable to democrats.

But they'd also be commercial time the GOP couldn't buy up. And it would be painting progressives, and democrats in a positive light leading into the election. It'd help all democrats. And you could watch the GOP go apaplectic trying to complain about them.
