2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSo this new meme... "The Not Hillary Party"
What does it mean? Why did it start after the virtual dead heat Iowa primary? What do Hillary supporters hope to gain from this?
Hillary supporters, please weigh in. I don't understand this or its purpose.

More made up propaganda?

(60,336 posts)So how do I know?
cui bono
(19,926 posts)I'll find a link to the graphic... as to the posts, well, I could get a hide for it, but maybe I'll just take a pic without showing the user name, would that suffice?

liberal N proud
(60,336 posts)Or is it bogus there too?
cui bono
(19,926 posts)Here is a link to an OP that has the graphic, kindly supplied by the OP downthread:

I've seen posts where Hillary supporters are saying "The Not Hillary" party this morning and yesterday. I'm just wondering what they mean and what they hope to accomplish by using it?
.
liberal N proud
(60,336 posts)In fact there are several posts on the thread that would indicate that.
All you have to do is back up your memes! If it's valid then its valid but just posing "memes" (your words) is BS.

(13,685 posts)The H party are the establishment Dems who are for H and against anyone else.
Then there is the Not H party which would be 90% mol of the rest of the world.
cui bono
(19,926 posts)Who do you think is posting that? The GOP? Read this thread, people have seen the graphic in multiple posts and have seen the words.
So what do you think it means then? Why would someone post that?
.
liberal N proud
(60,336 posts)As above, where are you seeing that?
All I have seen it is all coming from Bernie fanatics.
cui bono
(19,926 posts)What does it mean?

I don't see where the claim it is from Hillary supporters comes from. Nothing but I have seen it and insinuating

(11,945 posts)If I'd foreseen that it would be brought up and examined on the board I might have noted every time anyone used it.
Why are you being so defensive? This isn't a court room.

(19,926 posts)So what does that mean? Does it mean there is a Hillary Party? I don't get it. I hope someone can tell me the reason for using it.

(146,317 posts)There certainly is a "Not Hillary Party" though. It's important that we not let that party override the Democratic Party, I think. That's always the battle in this country.
I don't do temporary memes. I take a longer view of things.

(146,317 posts)I have my preference, but mostly, I try to explain the structure of how the election process works in some detail. There are lots of people who don't really understand how the system operates, especially with regard to primaries, caucuses and delegate selection for the national convention.
I'm completely comfortable with people making whatever choices they want to make. In the end, the people will decide which nominee they prefer, and that's just fine with me. I'll be supporting whoever that is after the convention. So, I'm not really about attacking anyone who might be our nominee.
I'll leave that to others.

Things like sequestration, etc. Hillary states she wants to continue it, in the name of 'pragmatism'.

(6,960 posts)Because the pro-Hillary party is arguably not very progressive.
Thus: the Not Hillary Party are genuine progressives in the Democratic Party who are not supporting Wall Streets' darling, Hillary Clinton.
After all the news about her Bain fundraiser and all the hundreds of thousands and millions of dollars going to Clinton from the banksters, well, the Clintons are being clearly portrayed as Wall Street greed enablers.

I worked on Wall Street. I am skeptical Hillary Clinton will rein it in

(10,007 posts)We are constantly reminded that a Republican Presidency would be a disaster and therefore we must vote for Hillary even though we despise her policies, just to keep the Republicans out of the White House. In essence, we must be the Not Republican Party. We've arrived at this sad state of affairs because the Democratic Party establishment is bereft of any new ideas and has nothing proactive to offer to voters. All they can come up with is "the other guys are horrible!" Evidence of this is on every single liberal-leaning site on the Internet: the majority of front-page posts just mock Republican politicians or conservative pundits, and precious few talk about Democratic politicians and their ideas.
It is no wonder that Hillary supporters would project this behavior onto Sanders supporters. They see us as left-wing cranks that simply detest Hillary for personal reasons, and therefore we'll vote for anyone but Hillary with no regard for policy or platform.

(13,133 posts)The idea of getting a toe hold, someway to wedge an idea in and expand on it would seem to be the thinking.
The idea of the separation of the people supporting the candidate from the candidate themselves gives greater latitude to attack the supporters without debating any of the sticky issues that are with great effort trying to be avoided.
The big problem is a contributor base of over three million, perhaps like many other things, they haven't quite thought everything through too thoroughly

You seem to know, so what does it mean and what is it's purpose? What is the intended result from using that term?

(73,559 posts)I've noticed it a few times today, too.
Applying labels such as this is merely an attempt to depersonalize and marginalize those with different opinions. Such behavior has a long and rather unattractive history in our country.
