2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary Clinton Was the 11th Most Liberal Member of the Senate
This was posted last year on Daily Kos, but still relevant--for such a conservative, Hillary Clinton sure had a pretty liberal voting record during her years in the Senate.
As it turns out, with a first-dimension score of -0.391 based upon her entire service in Congress, Hillary Clinton was the 11th most liberal member of the Senate in each of the 107th, 108th, 109th, and 110th Congresses. That places her slightly to the left of Pat Leahy (-0.386), Barbara Mikulski (-0.385) and Dick Durbin (-0.385); clearly to the left of Joe Biden (-0.331) and Harry Reid (-0.289); and well to the left of moderate Democrats like Jon Tester (-0.230), Blanche Lincoln (-0.173), and Claire McCaskill (-0.154).
Some more numbers from the 110th Congress, to further help put things in perspective:

(30,250 posts)There is a lot more to voting someone for president than the race to be the most liberal of them all.
Gee, it's not as if they were running for school president.

But I'd not be surprised to hear HRC claim she's a socialist,
just like Bernie.

Wall Street and Big Business did a very good job at placing their people in the Senate as Democrats.
They now have two Parties that serve them. One openly and one says one thing and does another (while not fighting AT ALL for most of the things they say they want).
Being the 11th most liberal member of the Senate doesn't mean much when the Senate has become so overrun with individuals that are MORE than happy to serve business interests over average Americans interests. A lot of them even call themselves New Democrats now. There's a reason for that.
