Mitt Romney is a Rich Man Who Can Buy Everything But a Clue

The current Republican presidential ticket of Willard Romney and Paul Ryan are proving to be clueless in promoting their agenda whether it is foreign policy, the economy, or taxes, and whether it is a deliberate attempt to conceal their real agenda, or that they cannot articulate how their plans help Americans, they appear lost and deceptive. If there is one thing Americans will not tolerate in their leaders, it is ambiguity and deceit, and after a little over six weeks of Romney and Ryan’s reluctance to answer the simplest questions and give specifics about any issue, Americans are finding very few reasons to support them. It is also becoming apparent that Willard Romney is having issues related to his arrogance and inability to tell the truth that prompted Mrs. Willard to say “I think my biggest worry would be for his mental well-being.”

Romney’s well-being is predicated on never being questioned or challenged, and as some in the media are finally asking questions he cannot or will not answer, he looks clueless. It must be trying for a man used to being the smartest guy in the board room to have to dodge simple questions about his alleged economic prowess, or how his tax plan does not favor the wealthy or punish the poor and middle class. Romney’s “just trust me” response to questions is being met with more questions he is either unable or unwilling to answer honestly, and it must play on his mental health after a lifetime of obeisance from his underlings at Bain Capital. One gets the impression that behind that vapid, soulless gaze is a man unable to believe people are not hanging on his every word as if uttered from the mouth of god.

There is a good reason Americans are ill-inclined to believe anything Romney or Ryan says and it is primarily because they are promoting failed Bush policies the people are aware tanked the economy and embroiled the country in two wars. Willard Romney likes the idea of being president, but has no clue about how to lead the country and Mrs. Willard really articulated the point perfectly when she said, “It’s Mitt’s time, it’s our turn” to be president as if he is a monarch-in-waiting for the current leader to pass the baton simply because he is Mitt.

It is possible Romney is clueless because he has changed his position on every issue important to Americans so often, that he really doesn’t have a clue what he believes, or what Americans want to hear from a prospective leader. It was simple for Willard to pander to left-leaning residents of Massachusetts, or religious extremists during the Republican primaries, but America is a big country with wide-ranging political views and when challenged with giving specifics the majority of Americans can support, he is dazed and confused. Romney indicated he will be little more than a yes-man to special interests if he is elected when he touted his obedience to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He said, “I’d get on the phone to my friend Bibi Netanyahu and say, ‘Would it help if I said this? What would you like me to say and do?” It is not the statement of a leader, and Grover Norquist, the anti-tax crusader made a similar observation.

Willard Romney is a hologram, an image without substance who likes the idea of talking about being president. Conservatives like him because he looks presidential because he is white and rich, but he offers little to Americans that gives them hope and a feeling of community. In what was the defining moment of his candidacy, he labeled 47% of Americans parasites and has alienated minorities, the poor, women, gays, seniors, and most of all, Veterans; portraying himself as the ingrate he really is. But what can anyone expect? His entire life consisted of wealth and privilege very few Americans can relate to, and he proves it every time he opens his mouth to say the wealthy need more tax cuts. Romney is also a broken record Americans heard for eight years during the Bush administration, and in 2012, it is just so much bovine excrement that, like Willard Romney, American people are sick and tired of hearing; especially from a man who likes the idea of being president, but is clueless as to how to lead.
