Dog Lovers Plan To Protest Romney at Westminster Dog Show

ABC News

Democrats are have every intention of making sure – if Romney wins the GOP nomination – that every voting American knows about the story of Romney putting his family dog Seamus in a kennel on top of his roof and driving from Boston to Canada, with said canine Seamus making his displeasure known in a rather scatological way

I Ride Inside
A protest planned for the Westminster dog show tomorrow is the latest sign the scandal Mitt Romney’s treatment of his dog, Seamus, during a 1983 road trip just won’t die. The website “Dogs Against Romney” sent out a press release this afternoon announcing their intent to stage a demonstration in front of the annual canine cabal with “dogs and their dog-loving friends and families” tomorrow.

Dogs Against Romney, which was created in 2007 after the story first emerged about Mr. Romney putting his Irish Setter, Seamus, on the roof of his car during the more than twelve hour trip from Boston to Mr. Romney’s vacation home in Ontario. The press release about the protest included a quote from the supposed “founder” of Dogs Against Romney, a dog named Rusty:

“I’m sure everyone who attends the Westminster dog show will agree: Dogs are not luggage.”

Seamus’ story has been a persistent issue for Mr. Romney during this year’s presidential campaign. Mr. Romney has repeatedly insisted his dog enjoyed traveling on top of the car and his Ann, has said Seamus survived the trip and went on to live to a “ripe old age.” However, last month, The Politicker reported two of Mr. Romney’s sons had an off-record conversation with reporters where they revealed the dog ran away when they reached their destination on that infamous journey. Mr. Romney and his campaign didn’t respond to multiple requests for comment on that story.

If this is true- "Mr. Romney’s sons had an off-record conversation with reporters where they revealed the dog ran away when they reached their destination on that infamous journey".

But a red irish setter named Seamus went to live with Jane Romney, Mitt's sister in CA. This Seamus, took to cuddling kittens.

Which ever way you look at it, Rmoney got rid of Seamus.

dogs. I have seen dogs jump in the back of pick up trucks. But I have never seen a dog climb up on the roof of a station wagon. Not saying it never happened, but it does sound bogus to me. Has anyone ever seen this?
